A Nursery Ministry

The church nursery is an important part of our children's ministry and as such we seek to provide the best care for our children. The following guidelines are in place to make the nursery area a safe and productive place for our young children.

*Children ages 2 and under can attend the nursery during Sunday morning worship.

*Parents need to pick children up from Sunday School when the bell rings. Please take children to the restroom or change their diaper before dropping them off at the nursery.

*There will be 2 preapproved volunteers in the nursery each Sunday. No other adults or children may be in the nursery at anytime.

*Please label diaper bags, bottles, and cups with your child's name.

*Please have bottles already prepared.

*Other than baby bottles or cups with water, please do not bring any food or drink from home. Also, please do not bring toys.

*Only parents are allowed to pick up a child following the service.

*Your child is in good hands. For the sake of others around you and the other children in the nursery, please do not come to the nursery during the service to check on your child. If your child is not feeling well or will not settle, the nursery volunteer will bring your child to you.

*Please pick up your child right after the service has ended to enable the volunteers' time to pick up any toys/supplies in a timely manner.

Nursery is a privilege. We are providing the nursery to build up and encourage our children in Christ. We expect the children to behave appropriately while in the nursery. Any action that disrupts the class or hurts another individual will not be tolerated. The following is a list of inappropriate behaviors:

*Using materials inappropriately (throwing toys, etc.)

*Not obeying or showing respect to authority

*Rough-housing

*Inappropriate language

*Physical aggression (hitting, biting, spitting, etc.)

In the event that a child displays any of the inappropriate behaviors listed above, the following discipline measures will occur:

1. Reminder of rules and appropriate behaviors.

2. Time out-Sitting in isolation for a determined amount of time.

3. Removed from nursery.

Nursery Procedures And Policies:

As you already know, Greene Ridge Church is blessed to have a vast amount of volunteers when needed. The nursery is an opportunity to serve in the church by being a Godly example to our children and allowing our parents the chance to grow closer to God. Once again, we need your help. If you would like to serve as a volunteer in the nursery and meet the necessary requirements, please inform Pastor Jason of your decision.
The requirements include but are not limited to the following:
1. Must be faithful in your church attendance.
2. Must verbally proclaim that you are saved.
3. Your lifestyle must testify that you are saved.
4. Must be at least 17 years of age.
5. Must have a desire to grow spiritually through service in the church.
Service Expectations:
*Arrive right after Sunday School is dismissed. Turn on the monitor.
*Pray! Pray! Pray! Pray individually for children as they play, and for the other caregiver as you work together.
*Report any concerns or ideas for improvement to Pastor Jason.
